Lille Røde : Danish for Little Red, as in Riding Hood. A playful guise for toying with themes from heartbreak to gender politics and subtle forms of revenge with a wry smile. Intelligent songwriting with a theatrical twist. Think Grimes meets St Vincent. Created and fronted by singer/songwriter Anna Mountford, a former professional actress and singer who stared in Lloyd Webber’s musical Starlight Express in the West End as a teenager and went on to become a regular face on British TV. Currently Lille Rode performs solo, playing and singing live to her self penned and produced tracks. Performing her electronic pop with a full band sound, which packs a punch. Upon her return from living and working in Los Angeles Mountford’s song Meteorite released as The Annilee Ford Band, was chosen by Glastonbury judge Muldoon and included in his “21 songs from Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition that you have to hear 2015” playlist. In 2022, BBC Introducing in the West picked up and featured her track Run Away.
