Alphabet Backwards’ ethos is simple: To champion the noble art of Pop music, dancing all the way. It’s infectious, and puts a smile on your face. It’s a summery, joyous, happy-go-lucky affair, punctuated with an irresistible synth buzz and hooks aplenty. After all, Pop is not a dirty word. The band grew around the song writing of James Hitchman until he recruited the people he enjoyed playing music with.

2018 looks to be an exciting year for alphabet backwards, with a follow up to the self-titled debut album on its way – “Friends Lovers and Empty Beds” and a UK tour planned are just two of the highlights to look forward.

It must also be said that the band do also have their very own covers band based in Japan

“These are the kind songs which crave to be played in an indie club with their infectious lyrics aching to be sung back and the beats of the kick drum commanding to be danced to.” Live-music-scene

“this humble little EP certainly makes the world feel a little warmer when you give it a listen.” –

Oxford five piece alphabet backwards have all that is required to become a mainstream success: bundles of energy, good looks and most importantly fantastic ‘pop’ tunes. –
